likes/dislikes
LIKES:
Tests of cunning. Give her a good riddle over a game of chess any day.
Pranks. At least, she likes to pull them. Being on the receiving end is never quite as fun.
Chocolate. It's one of the few things she actually likes about the “real” world.
Making people look foolish. Especially if that person was trying so hard to make it seem like they were above her.
Rocks. Don't ask why, because she doesn't seem to know herself, but she always has a few interesting stones in her pocket.
DISLIKES:
Violence. Though remember that this is by the standards of a place where killing animals for food is an everyday event. From a “real world” perspective, she seems rather brutal.
Orders. Unless you are someone she recognizes as an authority figure you do not tell her to do things if you want them to get done. And even if you are, it's not the best course of action.
Fire. At least in large amounts. Though that is understandable, considering.
personality
Elys is slightly odd by the standards of her home world, and downright feral by “real” world standards. Of course, a girl who turns into a bat at the full moon is rarely normal, but even without that particular detail, the least she could be called is eccentric. No matter where she is, or whom she is talking to, or even what world she is in, she always seems to not belong. There is no one specific trait anyone can point to, but everything she does somehow manages to broadcast that she is an outsider. Some find it unnerving and avoid her, some find it frightening and avoid her, and the truly insensitive do not notice it at all, but none but the last do not respond in some way.
Though you might not guess it from the first, second, or forty-ninth glances, she actually is rather smart. At least, once she commits to something, she will not let anything stand in the way of her doing it, and that something often includes learning. The problem is convincing her that she should commit to it. It sometimes seems as if she specifically goes out of her way to avoid her own best interests. She doesn't, of course. It's just that if her own best interests are something beyond eating and not being eaten, she can be slow to recognize them.
