When you were a small child, did you ever dream of fighting Captain Hook alongside Peter Pan or travel down the Mississippi river with Huckleberry Finn? There are people in this world who can enter a story, just by reading aloud. When Mortimer Folcheart read from Inkheart, he never expected that a villan would appear in front of him and his wife go into the story. When things were brought from one story into another, they had to be replaced, so Mortimer refused to read aloud again. Years passed by and by, and after being captured by the same man he read out, he discovered that his wife was still alive. With help from the author of Inkheart and Mortimer's daughter, Meggie, the villan Capricorn was destroyed and the author disappeared into his own story.
All the copies of Inkheart were thought to have been destroyed. When an author named William Tully discovered this, he searched every corner of the earth for just one more copy of the book. With much success, he did, and he ordered the book to be re-published. He spent nights on end, reading the book out loud to himself until one day, a mysterious fog loomed above his head. Much to his surprise, it was a portal to the book. He had heard of people being able to bring things out of books, but not to this extent. William had the ability to create portals between worlds. He stepped in, and as the years passed, became the King of Lombrica's advisor. Together, they changed the face of the Inkworld, forcing the poor down south and allowing the rich to thrive in the fertile lands of the north.
With that, a man known only as Orin rose up and claimed to be Capricorn's successor. All that is known about him is that he was once the son of a fire raiser. While he felt that the poor deserved to rot, he decided to play along with them, and rise up as "king" of the south. Orin and his rapidly growing band of fire raisers go off on missions to burn down estates in the north, and cause havoc in the south with his dictator-style rule.
Today, many portals have appeared in the Inkworld, but nobody is quite sure why. Some from the book have ended up in the "real" world, and some have ended up in the book. Only one person can be blamed, though...[/style][STYLE=background-color: 2f2f2f; width: 430px; color: 2f2f2f;] . [/style][STYLE=font-family: arial; font-size: 9px;]Made by MINNIE of BTN.[/style]
